Colleen O. James
Colleen James is a forensic registered nurse at South Peninsula Hospital Clinical Forensic Services in Homer, Alaska. For over ten years, she served as the Clinical Forensic Services Coordinator of the Kenai Peninsula SART/SANE Team at Central Peninsula General Hospital in Soldotna, Alaska and at South Peninsula Hospital of Homer, Alaska. Colleen James has over 30 years’ experience in practice as a registered nurse and 24 years’ experience as a forensic nurse. She is a member in good standing of the International Association of Forensic Nurses, the Alaska Nurses Association, and the Alaska Children’s Alliance. She is also a past member of the Child Advocacy Coalition of Homer and the Forensic Nurses Association of Alaska and has previously served as president of both organizations. In recognition of her contributions to violence prevention and child advocacy in the State of Alaska, Colleen James was named the 2016 recipient of both the Alaska Nurses’ Association Visionary Award and the Alaska Children’s Alliance Lights in the Night Award.
